“To Life”

I love this time of year. Everything is coming to life and is worth celebrating.

There is the celebration of Life at Graduation time. There is the celebration of Life as new families are formed in marriage. Life is celebrated as we spend time together in God's beautiful outdoors. There is the celebration of life as the crops begin to grow. I hope you have learned to celebrate life.

As people of God we should be the ones who are truly celebrating life. Jesus knew how to celebrate life even in difficult situations. His desire for each of us is to celebrate life. In fact his purpose on earth was to give life.

In John 10:10b, Jesus says, "I have come that you may have Life and have it more abundantly."

He wants us to have an abundant life. Not a so-so life or mediocre life. He wants to give us life to the "max".

What is also important is that he tells us that Satan, the thief, comes to steal, kill and destroy. The difference between the two is that Jesus brings life and evil brings death.

When we follow God's will, he gives us an abundant life. As "The Message" paraphrase states, "I came so they can have real and eternal life and better life that they ever dreamed."

What is so exciting about this is that he offers this life to everyone who will commit their life to him.

I hope you will celebrate the Abundant Life that God has given to you.
