“Do You Have Free Refills?”

I remember back a few years when the measure of a truly good restaurant was not the skill and professionalism of the servers or the quality and portions of the food. Even the cleanliness of the restaurant and type of food didn't matter. What mattered most was that the restaurant gave free pop refills. Yes, we wanted to be able to drink pop until we floated. It was free. As we got older we figured out that they had doubled the price of the glass of soda when they made the refills free. But we didn't care, it was such a great deal.

I want to remind each of you that God wants to daily refill your life with his abundant life and spirit. Free refills in your life just for the asking. It takes some of your time but God has promised to fill us with abundant life. Jesus has told us why he has come. In John 10:10b he says "I have come that you might have life and have it to the full."

As we look to this month we are setting aside some time out that will let God refill you. November 6th we will again host a Prayer and Renewal Retreat. It is a 4 1/2 hour time for quiet prayer and resting in the Lord. Have you ever noticed how difficult it is to refill a moving glass on the table. Some days we are moving so fast it's a struggle for God to fill us up. I hope many will be able to take time away with the Lord. This prayer retreat will get us focused for Sabbath week which begins on Monday, November 8. During that week there will be no meetings at church and we encourage everyone to plan time together with friends and family.

This year our theme for the church has been "Make Time for your Thirsty Soul". These opportunities are to help you refill your thirsty soul. I hope you join in and quench your thirst.

By the way, Yes God has free refills.
