It's Coming January 30 – March 13, 2005

By now many have heard about the book "The Purpose Driven Life" written by Rick Warren. This book has had a big impact on many lives nation wide and in our own community. The youth from Community Covenant read this book last year in their Sunday Evening Bible Study. Now, it is our hope that you will read it and be challenged to growth as well. This winter we are joining with many churches to be spurred on by the Biblical principles laid out in this book to take a good look at God's purpose for our lives.

On the Weekend of January 29-30 our church family will embark on what I believe will be a significant period of spiritual growth. I hope that all adults and youth will join in and commit themselves to this 40 day emphasis. During this "40 Days of Purpose" there will be weekly Biblical messages, special small group video studies, daily inspirational readings and Scripture memory. We will also have a kick-off event and an incredible Celebration Sunday on March 13. Rick Warren states, "I don't know a subject more important than answering the question "What on earth am I here for?" So he set down to write the Purpose Driven Life to help us biblically answer that question.

The six weeks will cover the six different themes listed below.

January 30 - Introduction
February 6 - What on Earth Am I Here For?
February 13 - Worship - You Were Planned For God's Pleasure.
February 20 -Fellowship - You Were Formed For God's Family.
February 27 -Discipleship - You Were Created To Become Like Christ.
March 6 -Ministry - You Were Shaped For Serving God.
March 13 -Evangelism - You Were Made For A Mission.
March 20 - Celebration Sunday

It is my prayer that we will join together as a family and take on the 40 challenge to grow deeper in our faith. Take a step of faith and make the time commitment to grow deeper in Christ. May this Advent season serve as the spring board to send you into this 40 days of Purpose. Have a wonderful Christmas Season.

40 Day Check Up List:

• As we prepare for the 40 days of Purpose we are looking for Host homes for our small groups during this campaign. It would required a one night or one day a week for about one and one half hours. Contact Steve Woller or Pastor Craig if you are interested.
  
  
• Begin thinking about the best day and time for you to attend a small group. There will be small groups during Sunday school as well as during the week.
