Angus Beef Cattle Operation

We have a spring calving beef operation, we target 5/1 as the start of the calving season. Normally all calves are fed out by us, at least to a weight ready for the feedlot. There are basically three groups within the herd: the first is made up of a purebred angus bred angus, the second is made up of purebred angus bred by other breeds (normally hereford) to produce F1 females. The F1 females are used in the spring herd which uses various terminal bulls. None of the spring calves from the terminal crosses are kept for breeding stock, although we are considering selling the black baldies (one quarter herford, three quarters angus) as breeding stock. We would be interested in being in contact with other people who raise beef.
