Should we boycott Amazon.com for selling the Protocols of Zion?

An article based on emails by the owner of this website, explaining why he does not think boycotting Amazon.com is the answer -- and offering a more constructive way to protest this book. Go there

Shylock and Antisemitism

While Shakespeare's creation of Shylock in "The Merchant of Venice" spawned an antisemitic caricature of enormous influence for several centuries, a recent production of the play by Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA, demonstrates that in an age of diminishing antisemitism, the Shylock character can represent modern concerns about multi-cultural society. Grant Stirling's site Shakespeare and Antisemitism: The Question of Shylock puts many of these issues into perspective.

A 1986 essay by Yonassan Gershom which first appeared in The Alley, the Phillips Neighborhood newspaper in South Minneapolis. Uses humor and irony to explore how stereotypes about Jews and money create problems for inner-city Jews, and raises the question as to why Oscar the Grouch does not have a mezuzzah on his trash can..

Unfortunately, she was also a blatant antisemite, as evidenced in her writings. This page contains some representative quotes about Jews from her works, with explanations about why they are considered to be antisemitic.

On Bashing Orthodox Jews in the secular Media

With irony and sarcasm, Yonassan Gershom totally flays Wesley G. Pippert's opinion of Orthodox Jews. Pippert, who served as manager for United Press International's operation in Israel, and was UPI's senior Middle East Correspondent -- and a total ignoramus when it came to Orthodox Jews...

The Anti-Discrimination Page

A good site with many resources on antisemitism, discrimination issues, Jewish religion and culture, resources, etc., etc.

The Anti-Defamation League Homepage also has good resources on combatting antisemitism and other forms of prejudice.
